Procedures of teaching

Teaching in class was stressful but very satisfying to know that they learn. My daily routine, I and my students will do a simple exercise while singing it makes them awake and it is a way to be close to them after the exercise activity we will play a game and that game itself is already connected to the lesson that we will be having for the day so while playing I will implement some rules and open the topic for that day and then discussion time as a math teacher we should give a lot of example and let them be involve in solving for them to remember it. It was stressful because we were having some misunderstanding and sometimes they are out of control that is why I always remind them with our classroom rules. The satisfying part is when I gave the worksheet they are actively answering it and I can see that they understand the lesson by their scores.

Time management and organizing activities

We were given a 45 minutes to teach each class but as part of the SEAMEO program we must complete a 20- 25 hours of teaching and teaching observation. Time management is hard at first because we must adjust to the students behavior that is why we are given an observation session to study each class. I had a hard time managing my time in class because I always had extra minutes and finish my class early.

Problem-solving

Problem that I encounter is language barrier I was required to teach 80% Bahasa and 20% in English because my subject is mathematics and I’m handling elementary students. Each time I do my lesson plan I make sure to learn and prepared scrip that I will use for the class. Some mathematical symbols that they use is different from what I’ve I know.

Classroom management

Each class different classroom management so we must adjust to the student need and behavior. In our case we are handling elementary so it is a big adjustment for me because I’m a high school teacher. I make sure that in every lesson I have an prepared instructional material for them and it is also a way to get their attention and I guess it is effective.
